Regal Cellulose Insulation
Saving energy and money!

Regal Industries and experts agree that Cellulose Insulation is the natural choice for making your home more energy efficient. You have the right to know about the quality, performance, health implications, cost-effectiveness, and environmental impacts of products going into your homes. The information provided here should help you decide for yourself that cellulose insulation is the right product for your project!

Regal Cellulose Insulation is the BEST insulation for your home! Why is Regal Cellulose Insulation the best product for your home?

  • Regal Cellulose insulates better

Cellulose offers more heat transfer resistance per inch than any other fiber insulation material.  It seals the home against air infiltration better than other fiber insulations.

  • Regal Cellulose is kind to our environment

Regal Industries Cellulose Insulation is an 80% recycled product made from engineered wood fiber (cellulose). obtained primarily from recycled newspapers and other paper products.  The energy used to produce cellulose insulation is substantially less than required to manufacture fiberglass insulation.

  • Regal Cellulose makes homes safer by slowing the spread of fire

Low melting point fiberglass insulations can shrink and melt during a structural fire, thus compromising fire containment.  Scientists at the National Research Council Canada report that 'cellulose in the wall cavity provided an increase in fire resistance performance of 22% to 55%.  Glass fibre insulation reduced fire resistance because it melted quickly when exposed directly to heat.

  • Regal Cellulose meets the highest standards set for insulation materials for residential construction.

This industry standard, set by a branch of the Federal Government,  is more comprehensive than the Consumer Products Safety Commission regulation, which has strict requirements for flammability and corrosiveness, but does not address other important characteristics that are not safety-related.

Today's cellulose insulation is covered by American Society for Testing and Materials Standard Specifications C-739 for loose-fill insulation and C-1149 for spray-applied self-supporting insulation. Developed and refined over many years through the consensus standard development process of ASTM, the cellulose insulation standards cover several material properties, including:

  1. Heat transfer resistance (R-value)
  2. Settled (or design) density
  3. Critical radiant flux (a measure of surface burning characteristics)
  4. Smoldering combustion (an assessment of fire resistance within the insulation layer)
  5. Corrosiveness
  6. Odor emission
  7. Moisture vapor absorption
  8. Fungi resistance
  9. Adhesive/cohesive strength (spray-on only)
